The stones used in this Rock Wall Consists of natural Blue Rock which is commonly found in Hawaii. The rock consists of random sizes and colors from brown, green, golden, blue, grey and black. Another Custom feature added to this wall is that we chose to stain the wall a few shades darker, this brought out the darkened tints of the rocks and made the wall take on a new form of elegance.

The Construction of this Retaining Wall Had Several Technical Procedures. We first had to obtain approval from both the City and County of Honolulu and Waikaloi Association in Makakilo. We had Several Special inspectors for this project some of which consists of Geotechnical Engineers as well as Structural Engineers who inspected each phase of the project to ensure quality as well as Structural integrity.

Recent Rock Wall Project

This project was particularly Challenging in Makakilo. The Goals of this project was: 1) To create a more usable space for the yard above the slope. 2) Design an elegant rock wall that would reveal the lots naturally valued features. 3) Design a Wall that is Structurally Strong as well as complyant with Hawaii building codes/restrictions for sloped areas, retaining walls and corner lots.

MG Masonry Support Beam Repair

BEFORE
This Support Beam had Major Spalding Damage and Structual Steel Damage as Well. The Cause of this damage is the Steel Reinforcement being to close to the surface of the concrete. This Caused the steel to expand and contract "rust" and eventually weaken the surrounding concrete. Water than entered the concrete and the damage was severe.



AFTER
The Exposed Reinforcing steel was repaired and a Corrosion-inhibiting coating was applied. The affected Spalding area was repaired with a corrosion inhibiting, fiber-reinforced, polymer-modified Concrete. This is a Engineered Concrete Compound that is also used to repair bridges,
tunnels, overpasses and roads.

MG Masonry "Heavily Damaged Building Project"

Before Major Repairs

This Building had Major Spalding and Structual Cracks. The extent of the damage was extreme.
We counted close to 900LF of Structual Cracks and several areas where there was severe Concrete Spalding, leaving chunks of the building to fall away.


After Major Repairs

The Buildings major Spalding and Structual Cracks were all repaired using Technologically Advanced Techniques.
The Structual Cracks were repaired using a Presssure Injection System in which Structual Epoxy was injected into the Structual Cracks filling them solid and making them water tight, a permanente Solution for Structual Cracks.

The Concrete Spalding was repaired using Technologically Advanced Concrete. Components of this Advanced Concrete consists of a Bonding agent which guarantees a Structual Bond to the existing building. It also consists of Corrosion Inhibitors which protects existing Structual Steel from damage and the surrounding concrete also. One of the most unique components of the concrete is the Specially designed Fiber Reinforcement used in it to guarantee the highest quality repair possible.
